Atlanta portrait painter Jane Levings uses loose brushwork to capture her subject's essence in light and motion. She continues to hone her craft under the direction of accomplished portrait painter Marc Chatov.
 
Born in 1972, Jane is a graduate of Pace Academy, UNC-Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia. An avid writer as well, she writes under her maiden name, Jane R. Shippen, and has taught creative writing workshops at Sweet Briar College, Randolph College and Lawrence University.
 
Jane lives in Atlanta with her husband, daughter, and two pet chickens. She is a member of Northwood Garden Club and Buckhead Church and is an active alumna of Camp Juliette Low.
